Terms & conditions

Below are the Terms and Conditions for Candice Harrison Studio. Throughout this page Candice Harrison Studio may be referred to as CHS. It is vital that you (The Client) take time to read through thoroughly and ensure you fully understand these terms and conditions and their implications before you commence any project with CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO. Please also note that from time to time CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO may need to alter these terms and conditions without notice. Please contact us if you do not understand any of the terms and conditions in this document.

Commencement of work

The Client agrees to provide written approval of the quote for either hourly rate to which The Client will be invoiced, or a quoted price for the project in whole. This written approval will form a Letter of Agreement between The Client and CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO.

All content to be supplied to CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO is to be in a word document format. Multiple and separate emails or documents with various sections of content will not be accepted. If you have questions on the best way to supply content, please email hello@candiceharrison.com.au 

Payment & Fees for service

The Client agrees to pay the invoice in full prior to work commencing, if the invoice total is less than $800. If the invoice total exceeds $800 a 50% deposit is required before work on the project will commence. All invoices are required to be paid by the due date on the invoice. Invoices are non-negotiable. Deposits made once work has commenced are non-refundable. 

Invoices paid in full that are cancelled within a 30 day period are subject to a part refund. If no work had commenced (design/digital/back end) within that time frame, a refund option will be offered. For work that has commenced and The Client fails to communicate efficiently or supply appropriate content for the project to continue moving forward, The Client forgoes reasonable grounds for cancellation and a full refund. A part refund may be agreed upon based on the timeframe and circumstances. Change of mind after such time is not a valid reason for cancellation.

For invoices based on an hourly rate agreement, a deposit of $110 (1 hour charge) is payable prior to work commencing. All hours allocated to The Client’s project will be documented and the invoice will be made one a proof has been approved. If The Client fails to communicate efficiently with CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO, an invoice for the time spent on the project will be sent to The Client and The Client agrees to make payments on the work done to date. Failure to pay the invoices within a total of 14 days overdue, CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will decide to take legal action to retrieve monies owed. 

Invoices that remain outstanding for 14 days after the due date of the invoice, will incur an additional late payment fee equivalent to 7% of the project cost for each week the invoice remains outstanding.

Approval of Final Work

CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO takes all care to avoid errors. CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO accepts no responsibility for typographical errors, spelling mistakes, or incorrect information on any project committed to print or production after The Client has approved the final file/s. It is The Client’s responsibility to proofread and approve all final copy before the production of work. The email verification of the Client’s representative shall be conclusive as to the approval of all deliverables prior to their release for printing, implementation or installation. No refunds or reprints are given after a final approved deliverable has gone to print due oversights by The Client’s proofreading.

After final handover of any printed or digital work, there will be no alterations, further training or additional work without associated fees. No refunds will be made after final handover of completed work has been conducted. 


Within the quote that The Client will approve, it will be outlined how many rounds of changes are included. CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will advise if work is going to exceed that which is outlined in an agreement. If work undertaken exceeds the work outlined or any addition is made to the items listed after an agreement has been signed, The Client agrees to pay for the excess work, which will be invoiced accordingly.

Excess Work & Author’s Alterations (AA)

Excess work is defined as any work involving additions to the list of items and/or any work undertaken that exceeds the work outlined in the quote. AAs are defined as changes to any piece of finished artwork after sign off by the client. Excess work and AAs will be charged in 15 minute increments at the current agreed rate to The Client.


It is agreed that all work and materials provided for The Client by CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will be free and clear of all liens and encumbrances and may be lawfully used by The Client without infringing upon the rights of others. CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will not be liable for any losses or damages that may be caused by or related to work outlined in this proposal.

Website Projects

CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO is not responsible for any cPanel or hosting account issues once handover has been completed. Transfer of hosting services will be made to the website owner by written request prior to six months post project. If for any reason The Client has issues after handover, full transfer of hosting ownership will be completed within 3 business days. 

All website projects will be completed within a four week maximum turnaround time. If for any reason the timeframe is required to change, The Client will be notified in writing. Website projects do not include any branding or print design work, including but not limited to logo design, style guides etc. The Client agrees that they will provide a high quality logo for the set up of the website at a minimum. 

CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will not be held liable for any issues or errors that arise AFTER handover has been completed including lost or altered passwords, training document/guide, access to Google Drive asset folder or cPanel/hosting access. CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will not be held liable for any issues or errors that arise once passwords and login details are given to The Client before the completion of the project.

If The Client engages another designer, marketing agency or IT company, CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO is not liable for any errors or issues that may arise after handover has been completed. No design asset files will be given to The Client or their new contractor.

The Client agrees to allow the CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO to add a small credit on The Client’s website. This will be in the form of a small line of text placed towards the bottom of the page with an outbound link to CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO’S website homepage. If The Client will be making alterations to the website after completion, the small credit on the website will not be added to avoid CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO’s name to be seen on a website that has been altered from the professional state it was handed over in.

Project cancellation

It is agreed that the project may be cancelled by The Client by written notification only either by mail or email (hello@candiceharrison.com.au). Should The Client breach this agreement or our standard 14 day payment terms, CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO also reserves the right to cancel the agreement by written notification. CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO retains the right to invoice The Client for all work completed up to the date of receipt of the written cancellation. The Client must then follow payment procedures as indicated above in a timely manner.

CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO has ongoing, regular clients. To avoid cancellation of your project, supply content and remain active in the progress. Projects that extend past 6 months can be cancelled without notice by CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO, and any work completed until then will be invoiced. The Client must only engage in starting a project with CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO with all content finalised prior to commencement.

Asshole Free Zone

Abuse, rudeness, and/or demands towards CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will not be tolerated, and all work remaining can be cancelled at any time, in writing if these terms are breached. If a request is made by CANDICE HARRISON STUIDO, please discuss your issue in a respectful manner. Any false accusations and defamation-type public posts will be dealt with in a legal manner. 


The quote is strictly confidential and must not be copied, forwarded or shown to anyone; in part or in whole; that is deemed by CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO to be a competitor of CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO. This generally includes other graphic design studios, advertising agencies, creative firms, freelance designers, web developers and printing companies that offer design services. We trust that you, The Client, will respect this as part of our terms and conditions and keep a professional working relationship.


CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO always retains the right to use the completed project and any preliminary designs for the purpose of design competitions, future publications on design, educational purposes and marketing materials.

The Client agrees when commencing work with CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO that any concepts not approved are then reproduced for other clients if the design fits their business needs. If CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO offers to release intellectual property and the client agrees to pay the proposed Copyright fee, CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will then assign full copyright ownership of the work to The Client upon payment of all monies owed in full. This does not include preliminary designs that are not approved by The Client.


This proposal assumes goodwill from both CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO and The Client regarding:
1. What can reasonably be achieved in a given time frame
2. Making the best use of resources to achieve the most effective outcomes
3. Ensuring project content is supplied in a timely manner

Other factors

CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO shall not be liable for any failure or delay in supply or delivery of products/services where such failure or delay is wholly or partly due to any cause or circumstances whatsoever outside the reasonable control of CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO, including but not limited to war, natural disasters, strikes, lockouts, industrial disputes or unrest, government restrictions or transport delays, fire, power outages, failure attributable to hosting suppliers, breakdown of plant, theft, vandalism, riots, civil commotions, accidents of any kind or act of terrorism.

Resending or uploading existing files

If The Client accidentally deletes, loses or is unable to locate the final print or digital files delivered by CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO upon completion of the project, CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO can re-upload to DropBox, for a fee of $150 per request (plus GST). Providing the request from The Client has been made within 2 years from the date of completion.

CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will not archive projects older than one year from completion unless requested by The Client in which charges may apply.

In the event of complete design handover (working files) via DropBox, The Client must download the provided folder/s within 14 days. After 14 days, CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will not be held accountable or responsible for the files supplied to The Client if not downloaded. The Client will lose access to the DropBox folder after such time. 

CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO may supply EPS or Illustrator/InDesign files to clients on the provision of written request only, if not included in the cancellation of a design agreement by either party. Such agreement must be agreed upon both both parties. A fee of $330 for the release of working files is applicable in all instances. This will not include fonts licensed to CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO or any stock imagery used unless paid for separately by The Client.


CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will not release the print files to the trade printer until the invoice has been paid in full.  

Amendments to terms and conditions

Amendments to these terms and conditions must be made and mutually agreed to, prior to the signed approval of the quote/proposal by the client. Agreed amendments will be rewritten into a new quote by CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO, and the document re-submitted to the client for signed approval.


For in-person meetings in the event of COVID-19 mandates, CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will cancel and move to Skype/Teams/Zoom meetings only. From January 1st, 2022, CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO will not attend the homes of clients for meetings. Clients will not attend the home studio of CANDICE HARRISON STUDIO for any reason. All in-person meetings will be conducted in a public space such as a quiet cafe where there is internet access.
